Ever since Ella moved in I haven't had to wake up Lola every morning. I'm pretty happy about that.We grabbed a bite to eat for breakfast at the coffee shop. Signor Volpe treated Ella with a gift of a brand new time travel machine. It is a private jet! Lola, Ella and I hopped in the jet for an adventure. Our very first journey we are going to Medieval Europe.
The air was crisp and cool when we arrived. A tour guide name Shelly, she helped us find our way through the city of Rome. As we walked around the city. I noticed the buildings were very tall and made of wood. I looked up and the buildings were leaning above almost to touch the house across the narrow street. Lola pointed out that we should go to the market place, so we did. There were many people trading goods, people preforming plays, and lutes playing music. I was so fascinated by the cloth makers merchandise I decided to buy a couple yards. Ella also bought some shoes that the guilds made. Then we headed off to the next location on our tour.
Our next spot on the map was a small village on the outskirts of Rome, we went to the serfs house where one of the mothers was making a delicious smelling soup while watching the kids. Ella and Lola went to observe and visit with the men working in the field. I stayed inside and talked with the mother of the kids, here name was Amelia. She told me all about the remedies and formulas that she uses on the sick children. I sat by the warm and vibrant fire. I was really interested in what she had to say, there were so many herbs available to the people. That night we stayed at Amelia's house, she catered to almost all of our needs. She was so kind to us. and the next day would be another adventure visiting the lords and ladies, along with the monarch.
Walking up to the castle doors I felt a weird feeling in my stomach, as if I was nervous. A knight greeted us at the door, he was dressed in very elaborate clothing. I had done some research on Charlemagne and his ruling, I knew he was a great leader. When we walked through the castle I was amazed by the architecture. There at the end of the long hallway was his throne. There were many firebrand torches lit down the hallway. Charlemagne said to us, "Bonjour Mesdames, comment est votre journée?" I had absoulutley no idea what that meant and neither did Lola and Ella. We left after that because there was no point in not being able to understand Charlemagne.
Lola, Ella, and I had the most amazing experience in Medieval Europe. I can;t imagine how hard and painful life must have been if I had lived then. But now I have a little bit of an idea. If Signor Volpe gives us the chance I would definitely want to revisit Medieval Europe.
